Free online nutrition classes are now available to parents and caregivers of infants and young children living in Alberta Health Services (AHS) North Zone.
Classes are being offered via Zoom, an online video communication app. Participants can access these workshops at home on a computer, iPad, or tablet.
Led by North Zone Registered Dietitians, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about feeding infants and young children.
Registrations are open for the following class in April and May:
April 7 and May 4 (1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.): Feeding Toddlers and Young Children – Tips for enjoyable mealtimes: Participants will learn about the parent's role and the child's role when it comes to eating and mealtimes, strategies to help set up stress-free family meals, key foods and nutrients for growth and development, and tips for introducing new foods.
April 20 (1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.): Starting Solid Foods – Feeding Your Baby (6-12 months): Parents and caregivers of young children will learn about starting solid foods. This class will cover when to start solid foods, what solid foods to start with, and how first foods can be offered to your baby.
