Veterans Memorial Gardens Commemorates 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands with Special Guest the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Jerry Bouma.
Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre announces, "Tulips & Triumphs," a landmark celebration commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands and VE Day. The commemorative ceremony will take place at Veterans Memorial Gardens (10121-93 St.), followed by a celebration dinner and dance at 'D' Company Armouries in Grande Prairie on June 28, 2025.
Honorary Consul for the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Jerry Bouma, will be the distinguished guest of honor, bringing a personal connection to this historic commemoration. As the son of Dutch parents who experienced the liberation firsthand at age 15, Mr. Bouma represents the enduring bond between Canada and the Netherlands.
