Gear up for a day of patriotic pride at the City of Grande Prairie’s 2025 Canada Day festivities in Muskoseepi Park on July 1.
The City is celebrating with a full day of family-friendly fun, starting with the annual downtown Canada Day parade at 2 p.m., Muskoseepi Park activities from 3:30 to midnight and finishing off with fireworks over the reservoir.
Canada Day parade
The Canada Day parade begins at Hillside School at 2 p.m., travels down 96 Street and 100 Avenue, ending at the Northwestern Polytechnic parking lot. This year’s parade theme is Made in Canada.
Join this year’s Canada Day parade by submitting an entry application available at cityofgp.com/CanadaDay. Applications for parade entries are open until June 13, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. Parade entries are $52.50 for profit organizations and free for non-profit organizations.
Muskoseepi Park activities
Free, all-ages activities are happening at Muskoseepi Park from 3:30 p.m. to midnight including:
· Free drop-in swimming at the Aquatera Outdoor Pool from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
· Free treats (while supplies last), starting at 3:30 p.m.
· Live entertainment at the Amphitheatre from 3:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
· Carnival rides and games, sponsored by Paramount Resources Ltd.
· Kids zone with face painting and roaming entertainment.
· Food trucks.
The City wraps Canada Day up with a bang with a fireworks display, presented by Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre, at 11:30 p.m. from the reservoir at Muskoseepi Park.

Free and extended transit service
Transit operates for free on Canada Day with regular service running on Sunday hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. followed by extended late night on-demand and accessible services between any stops within Grande Prairie running from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
