Dawson Creek Alliance Church (DCAC) is organizing a Drive-By Advent Window Outreach for the community. Each week-end during the upcoming Advent season, people have the opportunity to drive by a few homes in their cars and admire up to five street-facing decorated window at different addresses spread around town while listening to specially chosen Christmas carols listed on the DCAC website with a link to different performers. These carols will match the respective theme for each Advent.
The First Advent is already coming up on November 27th under the theme of "Hope". It focuses on the first coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The Second Advent Window displays will start on December 4th and are themed "Faith". The windows will reflect the events in the Bethlehem manger.
The Third Advent starts on December 11th and has the Shepherd's "Joy" at the forefront.
The Fourth Advent on December 18th proclaims the "Peace" the angels announced.
Advent windows will be lit from 6 pm to 9 pm each Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. The First Advent kicks off with five addresses which are displayed on the DCAC website (https://dawsoncreekalliance.ca/). Each week, addresses for the upcoming Advent will be added, so that people can drive to the places while listening to some matching Christmas carols. Sing along in the safety of your car or listen to the lyrics and be encouraged by the powerful Christmas story proclaimed in them. The message still holds true today!
On Christmas Eve, there will be a culminating drive-by Christmas event at the Dawson Creek Alliance Church from 6 pm to 8 pm during which various activities can be taken in from the safety of your car as you drive slowly around the church building to take it all in. Stay tuned for more details!
